Before the Alps burn down

 

Apocalyptic stench this could be,

Blitzkrieg, madness, attack gone bad,

 

half-Nazi lighting house, barn, shed -- 

Auschwitz, furnaces, the dead,

 

intent on flames, fire licking Alps,

glacier, ice  -- or less complex,

  

shame on depth -- stretched breasts,

ignition, heat, tightly pressed,

 

alpine meadow, private fire spreads --

pointy summits above, make sense.

 

Literary critics quick to say,

breasts, again, in every poem,

 

substance gone except for death.

They hope to burn the Alps one day.
