Fishing lesson

What are sinkers for -- question

asked father by son,

age eight, first fishing pole

dragged backward, tip in dirt.

So baited hook won't float

past the hole, swirl away

downstream, The hole

has the action. Sinkers

keep the hooked stuck,

drifting slow -- they dance,

twirl, wait to escape,

hope to live again, skip free,

find some grass, maybe feast.

Keep you pole up, son.
