Flat-line

Partner gone, passed, deceased,

you pack, travel -- jungle, ruins,

desert, beach. Galleries,

museums, monuments, shows

back East. Home, you collapse,

die alone in the street.

Relatives fly in, search attic

for gold, freezer for cash, argue

to ease grief. Lawyer arrives,

looks up brewhaha -- discovers

brouhaha, calls it research,

settles the will. Bills that too.
