New comet may hit Earth, freeze hope

Darkness separates Dipper handles,

until now permitted no stars --

not even planets dolloped out

as shiny buoys. Suddenly,

messenger burning from nowhere --

comet surprise, iced, streaking

toward each beating heart --

more than bright mass of fire,

deliverer of cold lies, hate,

extra hate, eternal night.

Universal well, black as hell.

Each day still tails away,

imagined respite, deep breath,

air, uncharred, not yet,

ignoring hope frozen solid

in onyx lungs, blackened chest.
