It is what it was

Trite after a while, the phrase,

it is what it is, means no choice,

frozen, stuck. Allows no way

to act on where we've been,

maybe improve the future

somewhat. Even caged ducks,

by accident, beak latch,

open door, give grass a scratch,

learn to beak it again,

swim and splash. May be

more wise to glance behind,

beak the past -- it is what it WAS

beyond all that black, green light,

ahead, down the road a bit.
